Welcome toOrion Coopers School

In our Coopers community, every pupil belongs, every lesson counts, and every success is earned.

As Principal of Orion Coopers, I am proud to lead a community where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. We are a fully comprehensive secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and part of the Orion Education Trust – a partnership rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity.

Our vision is clear: we are a thriving community where pupils achieve strong progress, attend with purpose, and no child is left behind regardless of background or need. Every classroom reflects our high expectations, and our pupils lead with integrity, wearing their uniform with pride and managing their behaviour with maturity.

Orion Coopers Celebrates Outstanding Success Across     Year 13 & Year 11

Orion Coopers proudly celebrates a record-breaking summer of achievement as both our Year 13 and Year 11 students secure exceptional results. Their dedication, resilience and ambition have set a new benchmark for excellence across our community.

Year 13 – Shaping Futures with Promise
This year’s A Level and vocational outcomes exceeded expectations, with average grades rising once again. Our students now embark on exciting futures at prestigious universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities in fields including Law, Cyber Security, Finance and Biochemistry.

Notable achievers include Henry (A, B, C – University of Greenwich, Finance and Investment Banking), Kendra (A, B, B – University of Birmingham, Biochemistry and Management), Connor (D*, D, B – University of Reading, Economics), alongside Tvisha (Law, University of Surrey), Veronica (Business and Management, University of York), Johnny (Finance and Banking, University of Sussex) and Faith (Urban Planning, Loughborough University).

Year 11 – Record GCSE Success
Our Year 11 pupils have made history, achieving the best GCSE results Orion Coopers has ever recorded. This outstanding cohort, facing formal external assessments for the first time, demonstrated determination and ambition throughout.

Top performers included Adrian (eight Grade 9s), Chloe (six Grade 9s, three Grade 8s, D/D*), Ruby (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s), Ella and Dami (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s each, with Dami also earning D/D*), and Ola (four Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, one Grade 7, two Grade 6s). Others such as Fynn, Ellie and Matilda also secured impressive combinations of top grades.

A record number of students achieved Grade 5 and above in both English and Maths, underlining another milestone. Many will now progress to our thriving Sixth Form, where their talents and aspirations will continue to flourish.

A Community Achievement
These results reflect the dedication of students, staff, parents and carers working together to create extraordinary outcomes. Orion Coopers celebrates not only academic excellence, but the perseverance and potential of every learner.
