In our Coopers community, every pupil belongs, every lesson counts, and every success is earned.

As Principal of Orion Coopers, I am proud to lead a community where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. We are a fully comprehensive secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and part of the Orion Education Trust – a partnership rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity.

Our vision is clear: we are a thriving community where pupils achieve strong progress, attend with purpose, and no child is left behind regardless of background or need. Every classroom reflects our high expectations, and our pupils lead with integrity, wearing their uniform with pride and managing their behaviour with maturity.

Our core values – Trust, Kindness, and Endeavour – shape everything we do. Trust builds the strong relationships that underpin our pastoral care and culture. Kindness ensures that every member of our community feels respected and included. Endeavour drives our commitment to hard work, resilience, and personal growth.

We are proud that our pupils feel safe and supported. As Ofsted noted, “Pupils are safe around the large school site. They know that bullying is not tolerated, and that staff swiftly intervene to resolve any issues.” Inspectors also recognised the strength of our relationships, stating that “Staff build positive working relationships with pupils and listen to any worries that they may have.” This culture of care and connection is central to our ethos and ensures that every child feels a sense of belonging.

Set in 33 acres of beautiful parkland on the edge of Chislehurst, our campus blends historic charm with modern facilities, including our Creative Arts Block and the Grade II listed Mansion House for Sixth Form students. These spaces reflect our commitment to providing an enriching and ambitious education for all.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures academic excellence and personal development. Our pupils benefit from expert teaching, a wide range of enrichment opportunities, and a strong pastoral system that ensures every child is supported to succeed. From drama productions and Duke of Edinburgh awards to leadership roles and reading mentors, our pupils are encouraged to explore their talents and give back to their community.
